De Blasio heading to New Hampshire amid rumblings of 2020 run

Mayor de Blasio will head to New Hampshire at the end of the week as he weighs a potential 2020 presidential run, a City Hall spokesperson said.

Hizzoner plans to tout his progressive policies in meetings with a New Hampshire mayor and local political organizers during the trip to the Granite State on Saturday.

“He wants to make sure ideas like Pre-K for All, paid personal time, and mental health are on the table as Democrats debate the party’s vision for the future,” de Blasio spokesperson Michael Casca said in an email Monday.

Blaz will meet with Nashua Mayor Jim Donchess in the late morning and then will head to Concord to meet with organizers from Rights and Democracy New Hampshire, Casca said.

Hizzoner is flirting with the idea of running for president in 2020 — and the planned New Hampshire trip will be the latest in a string of moves toward the race.

Earlier this month, de Blasio flew to California to appear on “Real Time with Bill Maher” and said former Mayor Mike Bloomberg and billionaire businessman Howard Schultz wouldn’t stand a chance in the presidential race.

“Listen to this: two billionaires [telling] everyday Americans why we can’t afford for them decent healthcare,” he said. “That’s bankrupt! They are going to be laughed out the race.”
